BODY HAIR TRANSPLANTATION
What is body hair transplantation?
As the name suggests, this is not a procedure to transplant hair to an area of the body (although if you are interested, it is a possibility, you just need to contact one of our representatives). Instead, this term refers to a procedure where the FUE technique is used in a donor area other than the back of the head. Possible donor areas include the beard, back or chest. In the same way as the other descriptions, the donor hair is processed in the same way and applied to the desired transplant area. One of the most advanced techniques used in hair transplantation is the follicular unit extraction (FUE) technique. The FUE technique is, in short, the extraction of individual follicles from the donor area, called the back of the head, with a device called a micromotor, followed by the opening of channels in areas with baldness or hair loss, and the final step of placing the follicles in their place. The candidate must have a good donor area with a sufficient number of follicles, these follicles must be healthy to achieve satisfactory results. For a candidate with a small and insufficient donor area and a large bald area, the number of follicles is not enough in this case, so a certain amount of follicles are taken and transplanted without full coverage (density). The last problem can be solved by extracting follicles from the patient's own body to reach the required number.
Body hair transplantation process and after:
The FUE technique is, in short, the extraction of individual follicles from the donor area called the back of the head with a device called a micromotor, then opening channels in areas with baldness or hair loss, and as a final step, the placement of the follicles in their places. The candidate must have a good donor area with a sufficient number of follicles, these follicles must be healthy to achieve satisfactory results. For a candidate with a small and insufficient donor area and a large bald area, the number of follicles is not sufficient in this case, so a certain amount of follicles are taken and transplanted without full coverage (density). The last problem can be solved by extracting follicles from the patient's own body to reach the required number.
In addition to the donor area, follicles are taken from the body (chest, back or beard) to obtain a sufficient number of follicles. The pre-operative transplantation plan is made in consultation with the patient's request and expert opinion, where a sufficient number of follicles are determined for transplantation. In addition, if a sufficient number of follicles cannot be taken from the donor area, an alternative area from which the follicles will be taken is determined. The alternative donor area can be the beard or chest. The donor area is anesthetized with local anesthesia, then the follicles from the back of the head (donor area) and the alternative area (beard or chest) are taken with a device called a micro motor to reach the required number, then channels are opened in the bald or bald areas, finally the follicles are placed in their places and thus the transplantation process is completed.
Body hair transplantation is recommended for patients who need more than two sessions or who need hair density. Some scars may occur after body hair follicles are extracted, which is quite normal and will disappear over time.
It is now possible to take hair follicles from any part of the body, depending on the patient's wishes, with the FUE technique.
